I finished this quilt early in January 2014 for my older son, Chopper. It is a Bonnie Hunter pattern.
I know it's an unusual color combination...but he had just bought a red porch glider for his glassed-in porch and I was inspired by these striped cushions that came with it (still in plastic here).
I thought maybe he would need a warm quilt if he wanted to sit out there and read in the cooler months.
I just dug through my fabrics and pulled out every little scrap in those colors.
A nice outdoor tree print on the back.

This quilt was made for my Uncle George. It's a Bonnie Hunter pattern called "Scrappy Mountain Majesties".
It's a fun pattern...you sew half square triangles together, then cut them in strips, rearrange, and sew.
This is the first time I tried using flannel for a backing. It worked fine and I found this sausage dog print! Uncle George likes Dachshunds - he had a series of them over the years.

This Barrister's Block quilt is on my list of favorites, too.
I made it for my dad, and was trying to finish for Father's Day but it was about six weeks late!
I ordered a lot of plaid fabrics from Whittles for this one.
It's roughly 70" x 86". I used flannel on the back. Machine quilted.

Later in the year I finished this crib quilt for baby Adeliene. It went fast because it was a crib quilt made with big 12" blocks.
I think this is one of my favorite quilts too. I like bright colors!
This one was machine quilted with a coral/orange thread.
I pieced together a back for it...adding a strip of the striped border fabric and a print with cute little Easter chicks.

The last quilt of the year was made for Olivia. I made this slightly bigger than a crib quilt because Olivia is already a preschooler.
The pattern was free online and I believe it is called Aunt Grace's Garden.
I used all my brightly colored scraps for lot's of color.
The back was pieced with fabrics with a cartoon animal theme.
That's all for 2014.
