January days are just right for staying inside and catching up on quilting projects.
I had a couple of small tops to layer and pin baste.
This one is crib sized. The lighting in the photo makes the colors look weird. The light strip is actually an orange print that matches the orange duck beaks.
This one is throw sized. It's one of those 3 yard quilt patterns.
I sewed together some of those blocks that I cut out earlier this month. This one still gets a black border added.
Puss thinks that anything laying on the floor is there for her to test out.
A few deer out and enjoying the day...five...is that a herd?
Here are four of them zoomed in closer. They are probably searching the property for any plant or tree that I've planted - to make it a delicious snack!
Later more snow.
And gray winter skies.
I made something pretty good. It's a ham and sauerkraut casserole, with Swiss cheese and some 1000 Island dressing added. Sort of like a reuben casserole.
Enough for quite a few meals.
I had a pair of white Capri pants that somehow developed a mysterious yellow stain on the front (no, not what you're thinking). Anyway, I decided to try dying them to wear on an upcoming cruise.
Well, the fabric was dyed nicely but all the stitching remained white! I guess the thread was polyester and wouldn't accept the dye.
So I won't be wearing these on the cruise!
