cheese ball - a good snack or appetizer

I used to only make cheese balls around Christmas time...for guests, or to take along to a gathering. But they are so good and so easy to make that now I make them several times a year.

Cheese Ball
8 oz. cream cheese (softened)
2 cups shredded cheddar (room temperature)
2 Tblsp. minced onion
2 Tblsp. finely chopped green olives
1 Tblsp Worcestershire sauce
Chopped pecans or walnuts

Mush together everything except nuts, using a sturdy spoon or a potato masher. Keep mixing until it is smooth. Form the mixture into a ball or a log and roll in nuts. (I pat mine out into the oval shape of the plate above). Chill several hours to blend flavors then remove from fridge to let it come to room temperature before serving.

It is good with all types of crackers. We usually use Triscuits or Townhouse crackers.
