A few blooms form around the yard.
Stella D'Oro Day lillies. I know everyone has these but I really like them and they are just the perfect shade of yellow.
I used to call these Tiger Lillies but they seem to be known as Ditch Lillies. They will grow anywhere..in any kind of dirt. There were some when we moved here and these are their descendants.
I wish you could smell this Magnolia Blossom. So sweet but not overpowering. You really don't smell it until you get close to the tree.
This is a small Purple Smoke Bush that we have had only a couple of years. It is supposed to get pretty big!
Another pic to show the fluffy part better...
My poor Leland Cypress are not looking so good, though. I had noticed some dead areas in them earlier this year...and I thought it was winter freeze damage.
The next time I noticed, they had more dead branches and it kept getting worse.
I read online that it is a fungal infection that might be able to be stopped by pruning off the affected branches and destroying them.
I pruned off quite a bit after I took this photo but I think the one on the right is too far gone. Maybe time to start thinking about what else to put there.
