working on a baby boy quilt

A niece and her husband are expecting their second child...a baby boy due next month!

I had been looking through pattern books trying to decide what quilt to make for baby, and then I remembered this quilt I started on back in 2013.  Eight blocks are already finished...only 4 more to sew!

(I just have some fabric scraps placed in the empty spots to see how to distribute the color)

Do you think this looks okay for a boy quilt?  I know it's very bright but that dark blue background fabric has stars and a sort of outer space look.   I will finish up the blocks and decide once I have it all together.

This was a "block of the month" project that year. I had gotten behind on it and then didn't get in a hurry to finish it because I didn't have anyone in mind to give it to.
Now I do!

  1. Very nice. I think it'd be great for a boy. No girly looking fabrics in there. :)

    1. Thank you Cindy. I have a superhero print fabric to use for the backing-that will give it more of a boy vibe too!
