a hike beside the river

The boys were over Sunday.  Junior had some pictures from when he had taken a hike along the Ohio river.

This is the casino on the Indiana side.  Pretty imposing from this angle. We have been there...but didn' t win any money....guess that's because we were just eating at their buffet!

This picture was taken soon after we had some extremely cold weather. See the ice forming along the waters edge?

Lots of assorted weird stuff along the river.  An old car buried in the mud. I can make out the steering wheel and maybe the roof?   Imagine it being new and shiny at one time. How did it end up here?

A lot of exposed tree roots! Interesting shapes. Not much left holding up the tree though!

One of the most unusual things he came across was this area where people have set up shelter for feral cats.  He said at first glance it looked like a miniature hobo camp!

Can you find the cat in this picture?

Evidently people bring food and water here regularly for the cats.

More unexplained stuff stuck in the mud.

A nice picture of sunbeams, wintery sky, icy cold river.

I enjoyed looking at his photos. It was like taking a walk down there myself, but staying warm and not getting all muddy!
