fruit loaf

During the Christmas holidays there can sometimes be an overload of sweets and goodies. 

That is why, back in December, when my parents gave us this fruit loaf, I wrapped it up tightly and stored it away in the coldest part of my fridge.  

Now, it's time to get it out and enjoy a little bit of Christmas in February!

My parents have made this at Christmas time, off and on for years. It is different from the usual fruit cake. 
It is dense and chewy but not cake-like

It is so good sliced thin with some hot coffee!  

I am sorry to say I do not have the recipe. I will be getting a copy of that!
