ham and swiss crescent braid

For a change Sunday, we had "Breakfast for Dinner".  It was nice to take a break from the routine "meat, potatoes, veggies, rolls" dinner.  We did end up a little heavy on the meats...but I am feeding men, so there were no complaints.

One thing I made that's always a favorite....

Ham and Swiss Crescent Braid
2 cups diced ham
4 oz. swiss cheese, diced
1/4 cup Miracle Whip - or more if it needs it
2 Tbsp. mustard - whatever kind you like
1 tube refrigerated crescent rolls

These measurements don't have to be exact.

In a medium bowl toss together diced ham and swiss.  Mix the mustard into the Miracle Whip. Pour over ham mixture and stir to coat.

Separate crescent rolls and arrange, short sides together in four overlapping pairs, on an ungreased cookie sheet.  Press together at centers to form a bottom for the braid.

Spread ham mixture down the center, then fold and overlap long triangle ends over the filling.
Well, it's supposed to look like a braid but it's okay if it doesn't- it will still taste good.

Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 25 to 35 minutes...until dough is lightly browned and cheese is melty.

We had this, along with sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, fruit salad, cheese grits, and sliced tomatoes.

The Sasquatch artfully arranged that tray in the center and put together the fruit salad. My older son helped get everything on plates and sliced up some of Lonnie's fresh tomatoes.
