Well, He just emailed a photo from yesterday...the babies have hatched!
Aren't they funny looking? Like a miniature raw Thanksgiving turkey with a head.
Hope they make it! I learned that baby robins stay in the nest only 14-16 days, but the parents continue to care for them for up to 4 weeks.
Also learned that the mother may use this same nest for another clutch of eggs this year and sometimes even a third clutch.
That's a lot of open beaks to fill!
